Pit bulls sometimes get a bad rap really. They are often considered vicious and unable to be controlled. Certainly, there are many who would claim that the combination of the breed’s reputation and the sheer size of this particular fella, that letting your young child play with it would be asking for trouble.

But not breeders, Marlon and Lisa Grannan. They say that their good-natured pit bull is a big softie at heart and they happily let their three-year old Jordan hang out with Hulk. The couple from Maine, say that Hulk shatters the misconceptions and stigma which often surrounds pit bulls.

"A dog is only as good as the owner," Marlon Grannon told Good Morning America.

In the face of all the possible negative reactions their situation could attract, the Grannons insist that Hulk is proof that even a physically imposing beast such as this can be a sweet, loving pet.

“A dog the size of the Hulk could kill someone if it was in the wrong situation at the wrong time. The power of this dog is unrivalled. If he bit down on someone’s arm with full power it would snap like a toothpick,” Mr Grennan said.
